Hayley Beeson started her Classical Ballet (Checchetti Method) training at Sandra Powell School of Dance at the age of four. During her time at the ballet school she realised her passion for dance and achieved great success in her ballet grade exams and also experience opportunities to perform on stage. A the age of fourteen Hayley joined The Silver Ribbons Dance School where she branched into Modern and Tap dance whilst continuing her Classical Ballet training
in the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) syllabus.
At sixteen Hayley won a place at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and joined the Dance Strand. It was at The BRIT School where she experienced working in the professional world of dance. She performed as a commercial dancer for ITV’s BRIT Awards for three years running.
Working in the entertainment industry Hayley gained great knowledge in production and the technical side of performance as well as refining her skills as a dancer. Hayley furthered her dance education by studying for a BA (Hons) Dance Degree at University Chichester. It was here she developed her love for Contemporary Dance. During her final year at University Hayley was chosen to tour with the dance company 3Fall.
Upon leaving University she returned to The Silver Ribbons to gain her Ballet teacher training and choreographing and performing in their productions. In 2013 she also is a qualified Contemporary Dance teacher in the NATD syllabus.
After success working at Worth School and local primary schools and directing many productions in 2010 Hayley joined the staff at Warden Park Academy teaching Dance and delivering the BTEC Dance award and teaching dance across all year groups. She then founded Hayley Beeson School of Dance 2011 and offers a varied dance education for young children to adults in Ballet, Street and Contemporary Dance. All dancers of HBSD have opportunities to perform in the productions each year as well as follow the IDTA and NATD credited syllabus.

Robyn Harman | Junior Street dance Teacher and co choreographer
Robyn first found her passion for dance at the age of three, when she attended her first ballet lesson. This was re-kindled when she enrolled in the LiveWire School of Dance at the age of 11, where she soon became skilled in Disco/ Freestyle and Ballroom and Latin Dance. She took over 25 ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) dance exams and reached Imperial Dance Award level in 2012 and Latin Bronze award in 2011. She also achieved an A in GCSE Dance at Warden Park Academy in 2009.
During this time, not only did Robyn develop her own dance repertoire and her love of performing by attending classes, participating in many dance productions and being invited to the World Ballroom and Latin Dance Championships. She then began her teacher training and moved on to teaching the younger pupils at the school. She flourished in this role and her passion for dancing, teaching and performing grew.
In 2012, Robyn moved to Hayley Beeson School of Dance and began her friendship with the school by becoming Junior Dance Teacher at the schools’ first annual Summer School. She successfully led the junior dance troop, giving them intense lessons and training ready for their first major dance performance in a real theatre. After this amazing experience, Robyn had completely been bitten by the dancing bug and was given the opportunity by the schools Principal, Hayley, to become further involved.
Since then, Robyn has developed a huge love for ballet and assists in all classes and recitals as well as continuing her ballet and teacher training in the IDTA syllabus. Robyn is the school’s Junior Street Dance teacher but has also assisted Hayley in her choreography ideas, costume preparation and the teaching of the senior dancers. She also runs her own street dance club at St Joseph’s Primary School in Haywards Heath.

Through the amazing opportunities Hayley and the school have provided me with, I have been able to learn new dance styles and techniques, perfect and extend my dance repertoire and have access to facilities and resources I have never encountered before. Oliver James Beeson | Sound Technician and MusicianOliver is a highly creative person and talented musician. He plays the guitar, drums and piano as well as having the ability to write original music, including orchestral scores.
He has played many live gigs with a mixture of different styles of bands up and down the country including Summer festivals and some of London’s hot spot music venues over the years. He started his journey at a young age of fourteen when his Father gave him a guitar. He very soon went on progressing from strings to teaching himself the drums.
Oliver has studied music, sound engineering, music performance on a mixture of different levels and also spent a great time studying at The Brighton Institute of Modern Music otherwise known as BIMM.
Most recently Oliver has taken a new path off the stage working at an established stage Theatre. He works as a sound technician and stage manager for the theatre that puts on an array of different performances from musical productions, dance shows, and live music performances. With links to ACM ‘Academy of Contemporary Music' and the London’s West End, Oliver’s hopes is to one day work on a world class level providing the musical back bone to the biggest shows he can get his teeth into.
Oliver has been a part of Hayley Beeson School of Dance for the last two summer shows. He is the sound technician and makes sure it all runs smoothly for the performance. He also works closely with Hayley in the months and weeks up to the shows, editing and mixing the music ready for the performance.
“It is a real pleasure to be working with my sister at her dance school. Hayley works so very hard on them and always sets out to top last year’s show from every aspect of it... and it really pays off! Every year the show gets bigger and better and it is an exciting show to be a part of. The kids love it and it is great to see the finished product at the end with all the costumes, choreography, lights and music. Everyone involved works so very hard and there is always a great vibe between them. I can't wait for the next show!”
Ruth Gray | Stage ManagerRuth is a very bubbly, creative character and loves working with children. Her year 10 work experience in a school made her realise she wanted to pursue a career in education. Since then she has gained experience in multiple schools, summer schools and even tutoring on the weekends.
Ruth loves the theatre and has a real passion for drama and bringing performances to life on stage. She studied drama extensively throughout school and for A Level, achieving a very high grade. She performed throughout university with the drama society, alongside studying Psychology. Ruth stage managed and directed multiple plays bringing her unique vision and creativity to the performances.
Ruth’s key roles within the Hayley Beeson School of Dance are to stage manage and costume design. Her role is multifaceted and includes involvement in the events and media side of the summer school. Her skill set lends itself to these roles perfectly as she is currently working for Amazon HR in various area of the business launching a new service. Ruth enjoyed textiles at school and loves getting creative with the costumes tailoring each one to the individual dance and ensuring it adds flare to the overall performance.
“I began to work with Hayley as her stage manager and costume designer in the summer schools first year. I love meeting the new students each summer and seeing their amazing talents on stage! Not only is it an exciting experience for the dancers, they get to make new friends, learn new styles of dance and show case their amazing talent in the visually stunning final show. The summer school is fast paced, action packed and most importantly fun for everyone!”
Alex Attrill | Co-choreographer and MusicianAlex is an exceptional pianist and has been playing piano since he was ten years old. He has achieved great success reaching the highest level of piano playing. Whilst at the University of Brighton studying to become a PE teacher, Alex was chosen to be part of the Male Dance Company: Kickstart. Kickstart perform all over the country in theatres such as the Brighton Dome trying to encourage more boys to participate in dance.
Also at university Alex took on the difficult task of choreographing dances for individuals that had limited dance experience. These dances were entered into a competition, Dance Rivals and for two years running the team came 2nd! Maybe this year they will be 1st!
Alex is a singer songwriter and has been performing and making music since a young age. Alex made it through to the Open Mic UK 2013 Grand Final held at the NEC in Birmingham in front a selection of Celebrity, BBC, Radio, and Record Label Judges. Here he won the Press award for best exposure. During the series of Open Mic UK, he was scouted to write his own EP Album at River Studios Southampton, the home of 'Birdy', X factor finalist 'Luke Friend', and the 'Artful Dodger'. His EP Album should be out in December 2014.
Since 2012 Alex has been working with the team at Hayley Beeson School of Dance and has helped to create imaginative new work and brings his musical talent to the stage with innovative solo songs. The dancers at the school enjoy working with Alex, his high energy and passion for performing arts bounces off of them and inspires.

Sandra Beeson | Costume departmentSandra has supported Hayley throughout her dancing career and is proud to be part of the production team. Sandra works on designing and creating costumes for the Summer School shows and chaperones the younger dancers of the school.
